Women For Natural Gas

Career Resources

A diverse, more inclusive workforce will be a driving factor for the success of oil and natural gas. And with an increase of women in oil and gas, we are set on the right path.

In recent years, 46% of all new jobs in the industry went to women! In fact, some women have already broken the glass ceiling–like Vicki Hollub, CEO of Occidental Petroleum, or Debra Reed rose to become the CEO of Sempra Energy, a Fortune 500 company, before retiring. Reed now sits on the National Petroleum Council, appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Energy!

It's no surprise women are disrupting the industry. Take Katie Mehnert, the Founder and CEO of Pink Petro. On a flight from London back to Houston, she jotted the idea for the largest oil and gas social media site down on three cocktail napkins. Now, almost a decade old, the company has an online television channel, a world conference, and partners with the largest companies in the world.

The biggest barrier women face in the industry is visibility and access to what opportunities exist.
